CRETAquarium

The Cretaquarium – Thalassocosmos is located in the area of Gournes in Crete, 15 km east of the city of Heraklion, in a location that is a unique park of research, education, culture and recreation which aims to promote and disseminate knowledge about Marine environment.

It officially started its operation in December 2005 and is a pole of attraction not only for all visitors to Crete, but also for the permanent residents of the island, as it carries out educational programs aimed at all levels of education. The Cretaquarium is open daily throughout the year as well as on public holidays.
